Bon dia & bon siman!
One of my favorite things here is that you still get wished a good week on Sundays and Mondays. Bon siman! 💙💛

Time moves slowly over here. You can therefore take it easy because of the heat. Even though time is slow, my first month has flown by so quickly. Sense of time is a strange thing. When you're having fun, time seems to fly by. For example, when you are beach-hopping with great company. Unlike if you work somewhere where you don't feel happy. Here the minutes seem to crawl by...
We can easily get distracted and keep scrolling on our phone to 'kill' time. Still, time is very valuable. Every second counts, and you’ll only live it once. The videos on Tik Tok may be a good thing for your laughing muscles, these apps have been proven to really limit our focus. Time to do something about this!
Getting more out of your time
To be more conscious of my time and to make even more fun memories on this beautiful island, I will do the following:
Capture the time
Keeping a diary or weblog makes it easier to activate memories and feelings. Take photos and video material to enjoy later (not too much of course, because we want to live in the moment)
To live consciously
In the north we tend to run after the clock. This sounds like a downright cliche, but living on a Caribbean island will make you realize it's true.
Look less at the actual time and try to live with the rhythm of nature. Follow your gut.
Regularly think about what you are doing, while driving, walking or just being somewhere. Listen to what you hear, what do you see and what do you smell? Relax your shoulders, take a deep breath and enjoy.
Do you want to have a fun, cozy and varied week? Make that crazy recipe you saw passing by on social media. Visit a new beach, exchange your regular coffee shop or bar for a new place. Don't be afraid of the unknown.
Create beautiful new memories! For more to come!
